Frequently asked questions
Do I need a birth certificate for Section 8?
Agencies generally ask for proof of age for every household member, and a birth certificate is the usual document. Ask what alternatives the agency accepts if you do not have one.
Do I need documents to get on the waiting list?
Usually not. The pre-application asks for basic information; documents are verified when your name comes up.
What if I have no income?
You can still apply. The agency will ask you to sign a zero-income statement and explain how you pay your expenses.
