Housing Authority Offices is an independent directory of the 3,769 public housing agencies in the United States. We built it because the information people need to apply for Section 8 or public housing is spread across HUD datasets, PDF notices and thousands of small agency websites.
Every agency page combines official HUD data: the contact details each agency reports to HUD, its public housing units and vouchers, the HUD income limits for its county and the Fair Market Rents for its area. Our guides explain HUD rules in plain English and link to the official source.
The site is edited by Agustin Mendez (Pinamar, Argentina), who maintains the data pipeline and reviews every guide. We use artificial intelligence tools to help with writing. All content is reviewed and edited by our editor, and every data point (addresses, phone numbers, income limits, rents) is checked against the official source before it is published.
We are not HUD, a housing authority or a government agency, and we do not take applications or decide eligibility. To apply, contact the housing authority directly. We never charge for information and nobody can pay us to move up a waiting list.
